The EPICT Modules
EPICT employs a blended flexible approach to learning and is designed to take from 6-18 months to complete. The methodology applied is team-based and involves process-oriented learning, collaboration activities and facilitator assessment.
EPICT follows a syllabus of four compulsory modules and four optional modules. Participants must successfully complete eight modules to order to obtain the full EPICT licence. The programme can also be completed in stages. The four compulsory modules are:
- Locating and Incorporating On-line Resources
- Word Processing and the Writing Process
- Communication and Collaboration on the Internet
- ICT and School Innovation
The optional modules available are:
- Digital Images
- Using Spreadsheets
- Presentation Technologies
- Web Publishing
- Desktop Publishing
- Databases & Data Handling
- Data logging
- Gold Level - 8 Modules (4 Compulsory & 4 from Optional Modules)
- Silver Level - 6 Modules (including minimum 2 Compulsory)
- Bronze Level - 3 Modules (including minimum 1 compulsory)
Each module has a notional length of 15 hours duration. This notional length of 15 hours results in 120 hours for the 8 modules required for the complete licence. However, this is dependent on the experience of the participant on entry and so the overall course duration is flexible.
